Keeping children safe

Most children and young people in Leeds will have all of their needs met from universal services such as GP surgeries, children’s centres and schools.

If you are ever concerned that a child is in immediate danger please call the police on 999.

We work with young people who break the law, helping them to stay away from crime and reoffending. Often they are put in touch with us by the police or the courts. 

If you want to volunteer, have fun and make a difference to a young person's life, become an independent visitor for looked after children and recent care leavers.

A Family Group Conference (FGC) is a voluntary meeting which takes place to help find solutions to family problems.

We offer ways to help families who are going through parental conflict.

Children’s Services are responsible for supporting children with additional needs, and for protecting children who may be at risk of harm. See our
