The most recent review concluded on 7 February 2024, with final decisions being made at a meeting of General Purposes Committee.

Notice of intention to republish the register of electors

In accordance with the Representation of the People Act 1983 and the Representation of the People (England and Wales) Regulations 2001, notice is hereby given of the Council's intention to publish a revised register of electors on 1 March 2024.

The revised Register will incorporate the changes to polling districts and polling places, which were approved by Leeds City Council on 7 February 2024.

The changes will be effective at the Leeds City Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority Mayoral elections scheduled for Thursday 2 May 2024.

Electors registered in the area need take no action as a result of this notice, but prospective candidates and agents should take note that the electoral numbers of registered electors may change as a consequence of the republication.

Comments from the (Acting) Returning Officers for Leeds, Wakefield and North Yorkshire

The deadline to submit representations was 30 November 2023.

Details of representations made will be published at the conclusion of the review.

Representations will be considered by Electoral Working Group in January 2024. New arrangements will be confirmed by General Purposes Committee at their meeting on 7 February 2024.

Any new arrangements will come into force with the publication of a revised register of electors on 1 March 2024.
