This page provides details of proposals for new developments in the Parks and Countryside Service and a chance for the public to comment on them.
There are
65 community parks in Leeds which are managed by Leeds City Council. Over the next few years we are working to develop a plan for each of these parks based on the thoughts and opinions of local people to ensure they are the best they can be. The plan will then be the vision for if and when funding becomes available.
We are currently consulting on Banstead Park in Harehills, Blackman Lane Park near Little London, Cross Flatts Park in Beeston, Gotts Park in Armley, Grove Hill Park in Otley, Nowell Mount Park in Burmantofts, Rein Park in Seacroft, Seacroft Gardens, Silver Park on Hartley Crescent LS6, Whinmoor Park on Coal Road LS14, Hainsworth Park in Farsley and Wortley Recreation Ground.

We consulted on these proposals because we want to improve the playground and facilities, but we need to know what local people think of the existing play area and what improvements they would like to see. This will help the council apply for grants to help pay for any works.

We consulted on proposals to introduce modest car parking charges to meet the cost of maintaining car parking services at Middleton Park, Roundhay Park and Temple Newsam Estate and to deliver a programme of improvements to the car parks at this site.

We consulted on vision plans for East End Park, Harehills Park and Burley Park in 2023 and the
findings can be seen here.
We consulted on vision plans for Woodhouse Ridge over winter 2023/2024. 350 people filled in the survey and we spoke to many more whilst on site and out and about in the community. The proposed plan was supported by the majority of survey respondents (89%) with only 2% saying they felt 'negative' about the proposals. The local community are very appreciative of Woodhouse Ridge, they like it primarily as a green space for nature and wildlife and would like it keeping that way but do feel that access for people with disabilities could be improved.
