An application has been made by West Yorkshire Police to the Licensing Authority for a Summary Review of the above licence.
The grounds for review are that in the opinion of a senior police officer the premises are associated with serious crime, serious disorder or both.
On 18 May 2024 the individual who holds the premises licence and is specified as the designated premises supervisor committed a serious assault on a 17 year old person. The 17 year old, and their friends, were in the premises consuming alcohol leading up to the offence and the victim required hospital treatment.
West Yorkshire Police have serious concerns that there may be further acts of violence by the licence holder/designated premises supervisor and seek suspension/revocation of the licence to promote the relevant licensing objectives.

An application has been made by West Yorkshire Police to the Licensing Authority for a Summary Review of the above licence.
The grounds for review are that in the opinion of a senior police officer the premises are associated with serious crime, serious disorder or both.
The application is made following a review in November 2023 submitted on the evidence of failed test purchases and seizures at the premises in relation to illicit tobacco, non-duty paid alcohol, illegal electronic vapes and the sale of alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years old.
An application was made to transfer the licence to a new holder which was considered when determining the review. The licence was retained as per the conditions modified by the licence holder.
On 18 April 2024 agencies visited the premises and seized a substantial amount of illicit cigarettes, illegal vapes and cash from the flat above the premises. Evidence recovered from the flat suggest the goods were being stored for sale at Gusto Market.
West Yorkshire Police make the application with the view that the standard review process has not been an effective or sufficient deterrent.

The grounds for review are that in the opinion of a senior police officer the premises are associated with serious crime, serious disorder or both.
During the early hours of the 19 May 2024 a large scale disorder occurred at the premises where approx. 30 people exit the venue and multiple fights ensue in the street and property entrance. One victim receives multiple injuries, including a bleed on the brain and a broken cheek bone.
The incident occurred whilst the premises were open beyond their permitted hours resulting in a breach of the premises licence.
Historically the venue has had a licence reviewed and revoked in 2020, which further supports West Yorkshire Police’s concerns that the Licensing Objectives cannot be upheld whilst these premises are open and trading.
